A Typical Day in the Life of My Husband

This post was meant to be created weeks ago but I've been lacking in the energy and general feeling good department.  But, there was this one day that I should tell you about where my husband did the following:

1. Dishes.  I HATE doing them.  It's a very easy task, but I would much rather scrub a toilet or vaccuum a mansion.  Even if my choice was all of that or wash one dish.  Mike did about 100 dishes to start the day.  Evidence of his labor!

2. He did what he does most mornings.  Shaves his face leaving a mustache, goatee, or hideous sideburns and then coming into the bedroom where I am still sleeping asking, "What do you think?" as if I hadn't been in this scenario most days of most weeks of the last 6 years.

3. He made dinner that night.  Homemade, from scratch, spaghetti.  Delicious recipe from my mom.

4. .  He read to me before bed.  I was reading a really good book, The Help, but I did not have the energy to hold the book or read.  So he did.  He even did a southern accent. :)

5. He did hours of "homework" which means responding to Kellogg e-mail and studied/prepared for his final exams.

5. At midnight, after I'd been asleep for a few hours, I woke up to him, doing and looking like this:

That's right folks.  He put on his full softball uniform and was practicing his swing and pitching.  Uh huh, he is 29!  He is going to the University of Virginia in a few weeks for softball tournament.  Yep.

My loving, helpful, and child-like husband ladies and gentlemen.  Boy or girl, they're gonna be blessed with a great father.

WBU - Week 11

The update on how I'm feeling: a LOT better!!!  Thank you God!  My nausea has greatly reduced and I am finally getting more energy.  For awhile there it felt like I was never going to feel better and that my permenant bedtime was going to be 7pm.  Ahh...week 12 here we come.

Belated WBU

Here is a picture from the last day of Week 10!

And for the record...I am wearing a Ballpark t-shirt.  This family likes hot dogs.  But not the Oscar Mayer kind.

Where Do All My Organs Go?

So, I've noticed that I am beginning to look a little tummy chubby and I began to wonder...is this the beginning stages of being pregnant, has the impact of not being able to exercise much taken its course, or was I like this before and am just not remembering?  I asked my mom about it and she said, "I noticed that yesterday.  This is what happens!"  She went on to explain how the organs of my body move to make room for the baby.  And then I found this AMAZING video on website for the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry:

Mike's Post Spring Break After School Program

While Mike is in Utah he is going to find out that he will be in an after school program when he starts his last quarter of school.  This program will be intense.

In this program he will learn that Little Red Riding Hood did not search for more porridge in the Three Bears House because she did not go to their house in the first place.  She was busy visiting her grandmother who was eaten by a wolf.

He will then learn that it was Goldilocks who was in the Bears home and that porridge is known by everyone to be oatmeal.  He should eat it once in awhile for breakfast instead of mayonaise.  I keep trying to tell him that it is NOT a nutritious breakfast, lunch, or dinner.  Not even occasionally.

NOT

Lessons will cease when Mike can show competent knowledge in the most basic and well-known fairy tales and nursery rhymes.

Spring Break

I'm on Spring Break.  In celebration, I am getting in a cab in less than seven hours (read: at 3:00 in the morning) to go to Midway Airport (read: I'm stupid) so that I can go hiking in Utah for eight days with three of my buddies (read: awesome.)  We will then go to Vegas for two days before returning next Saturday.

I'm totally pumped for the trip.  We've been planning it for months and it is going to be AMAZING.  That said, I'm not quite sure why I am going hiking in Utah for eight days.  Let's have a quick rundown of the trip participants:

This is Bryan.  Bryan is a former college basketball player and Naval Officer.

This is John.  John is a former college baseball player and high school baseball and soccer coach.

This is Pat.  Pat is a former college soccer player and is currently one of the leaders of the Kellogg Soccer Club.

This is me.  I like mayonaisse.  Starting at the age of 19, I spent almost an entire decade being employed by Major League Baseball teams to sit and watch other people play sports.  I routinely wonder why Little Red Riding Hood did not search the Three Bears' home for more porridge.  I also rountinely wonder what the porridge is.

I am then going to Vegas, which make sense, seeing as how I am too poor to gamble and don't go to strip clubs.

Maybe the parks have couches.

148 Month WBU

On November 11, 1998, we started dating.  One hundred forty-eight months later, we took this picture of E when she was nine full weeks pregnant.  Two days after that, we posted it to our blog.

You'll notice we haven't posted anything since last week's WBU.  Not sorry.  It was the week leading into finals.  And E had a three-day conference this week.  And we're new to this blog thing.  It's hard to come up with things to write about.  At least family friendly things.

You'll also notice the cardboard box standing next to E in the picture.  That should let you know how lazy we are.  We haven't moved a piece of cumbersome garbage in five days, and have so little pride in ourselves that we are willing to publish pictures of our life in squalor on the interwebs.  Somewhere, Child Protective Services are licking their chops.

Conversation that literally just happened:

M: What's it called, Child Services?

E: You mean Child Protective Services?

M: Yeah, thanks.

Silence.

E: What are you writing?

Silence.

E: Why is Child Protective Services being written in our blog?

Silence.

Anywho, the box is for the prenatal yoga set I bought E last weekend.  I'm amazing.  She's very excited.  At some point, she'll even feel energetic enough to actually use it.

The 20% Of The Way There WBU!

Final day of Week 8.  Look closely...

...and you'll still notice nothing.  But take our word for it, there's a little bulge above the pelvic bone :)
